The Vagina Monologues @ V-Day UNBC 2010
Aria Cheng (President of PrideUNBC) and Kara Steel (Women’s Representative for NUGSS), are organizing the 2010 production of “The Vagina Monologues”!

“The Vagina Monologues” is an excellent play originally written and acted by Eve Ensler over ten years ago. It is made up of a varying number of monologues and is now read by a varying number of women in cities all over the world. Every monologue somehow relates to the vagina, be it through sex, love, rape, menstruation, mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the variety of names for the vagina, or simply as a physical aspect of the body. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina being used as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.

The production will have weekly rehearsals in February and hit the stage on the weekend of March 12th & 13th in celebration of International Women’s Week. All proceeds collected will go towards The Northern Women’s Centre Society, the Elizabeth Fry Society, PrideUNBC, and the International V-Day Organization. Anyone wishing to be involved will be included in this epic event.
